Nurse Manager
St. Luke's at The Villages is hiring a Full Time Nurse Manager!
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the day-to-day RN functions of the facility by performing them personally or through subordinate. The management spectrum covers planning, organizing, delegating, coordinating, staff utilization, budgeting and controlling the services provided by the facility. Responsible for maintaining facility regulatory compliance, licensure, and accreditation standards. Coordinates and directs patient care and related activities of the Facility according to accepted standards. Works closely with administrative and medical staff in coordinating patient care service functions.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the patient care experience at St. Luke’s at The Villages. As such, the Nurse Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the surgical practice of the doctors working within St. Luke’s at The Villages. In this role, he / she is responsible for oversight and development of all surgical staff. In addition to clinical duties, the nurse manager is responsible for oversight of the facility by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. The clinical and surgical responsibilities of the nurse manager include but are not limited to:
Maintenance of the facilities regulatory compliance, licensure, and accreditation standards
Planning and organization of nursing staff utilization
Creation and oversight of surgical templates
Direction of patient care according to physician protocols
Oversight of physical space of St. Luke’s at The Villages, including maintenance of contracted service and presentation of the office
Oversees maintenance of purchase supply inventories
Responsible for hiring, training, and performance reviews for FT & PT RN staff.
Makes recommendations for change in protocol according to policy, and enforces protocols according to the direction of the physicians
Follows quality assurance protocols in the facility to ensure the safety and satisfaction of patients
Works with clinic, nursing, business office and marketing directors of St. Luke’s to implement standardized practices consistent with the organization
Participates in Quality Improvement, Infection Control, and Risk Management Program.
Oversees pharmacy inventory and documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate of accredited school of nursing required
Current state licensure required
ACLS Required
Perioperative (preop, intraop, postop patient care) nursing experience required
Bachelor's degree in nursing
Management training and experience required
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience within the health care industry with two (2) years in supervisory or administrative position. Prefer at least one year in ambulatory care.
